Operated by the local Keta River Fishery Cooperative, this stretch is celebrated as the home of the ayu. The cooperative manages the river's renowned sweetfish runs, making the camera a window onto one of the region's most cherished angling traditions.

Geography of Tenryu Ward

The river lies deep within Tenryu Ward, the vast mountainous interior of Hamamatsu in northern Shizuoka. Here the rugged terrain of cedar plantations, narrow gorges, and winding waterways defines a landscape far removed from the prefecture's coastal cities.
