The Hercílio Luz Bridge
Completed in 1926, the Hercílio Luz Bridge is one of the largest eyebar suspension bridges in the world and the most recognisable landmark of the island city. Its slender steel towers and sweeping cables connect the island of Santa Catarina to the Brazilian mainland across the narrow strait.
The Bayfront Promenade
The camera looks out over a broad waterfront esplanade, where palm trees, lawns and a dedicated cycle path trace the edge of the bay. It is a favourite spot for joggers, cyclists and families taking in the open water and the bridge beyond.
Florianópolis Across the Water
On the far shore the city skyline of Florianópolis climbs the hillsides above the bay, a dense cluster of towers backed by green coastal hills. The capital of Santa Catarina is celebrated for its beaches, its lagoon and its lively island culture.
A Living Coastal Scene
Boats cross the calm waters of the strait while the rhythm of the promenade unfolds below the camera. The view captures the union of engineering heritage and everyday coastal life that defines this corner of southern Brazil.
