A Classic Vendée Beach
The Plage des Demoiselles is a broad expanse of fine golden sand backed by low dunes and a paved seafront walk. At low tide the shore opens into a vast flat beach that draws walkers, families and sand-sport enthusiasts along the Atlantic edge of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.
The Nautical Base
In the foreground stands the Base Nautique des Demoiselles, home to a sailing and sand-yachting school. The flat, firm sand and steady Atlantic breeze make this stretch a natural arena for char à voile (land sailing), windsurfing and dinghy sailing.
The Atlantic Horizon
