The Black Stork Nest

This camera looks directly onto an active black stork (Ciconia nigra) nest, a large structure of interwoven sticks and branches lodged in the fork of a mature tree. Unlike their familiar white cousins, black storks are intensely shy and nest deep within undisturbed forest, making this intimate view exceptionally rare.

A Secluded Woodland Setting

The nest sits within the temperate forests surrounding Połczyn-Zdrój in northwestern Poland, a landscape of tall deciduous and coniferous trees. The dense, sheltering canopy provides the seclusion these birds demand, far from roads and human activity.
