The Mammal Stars
Regular visitors include javelinas (collared peccaries), desert cottontails and the occasional white-tailed deer, drawn to the sanctuary's water and shelter among the mesquite and native brush.
Birds of the High Desert
Large flocks of wild turkeys, coveys of Gambel's quail and the vocal canyon towhee frequent the feeders, while migratory songbirds and ground-dwellers such as the Montezuma quail make rare appearances.
