The Aðaldalshraun Lava Field

This wide-angle camera overlooks Aðaldalshraun, an ancient basaltic lava field carpeting the floor of the Aðaldalur valley in the far north of Iceland. The terrain is a mosaic of moss-covered volcanic rock and low birch scrub, a landscape shaped over millennia by the region's volcanic forces.
