Warren County
Location and Geography
Warren County lies in the rolling country of southwest Ohio, crossed from north to south by the Little Miami River and by Interstates 71 and 75 between Cincinnati and Dayton. Once mostly farmland, it has become one of the fastest-growing counties in Ohio, with towns such as Lebanon, Mason, Springboro, Morrow and Waynesville.
Notable Features
Kings Island, in Mason, is one of the largest amusement parks in the Midwest, and Lebanon keeps the Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest continuously operating inn, open since 1803. Waynesville is known for its antique shops and its autumn Ohio Sauerkraut Festival.
Natural Heritage and Conservation
The Little Miami, a National and State Scenic River, is followed through the county by the Little Miami Scenic Trail, a rail trail, and on its banks the earthworks of Fort Ancient, built some 2,000 years ago, are part of the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks World Heritage Site. Caesar Creek State Park lies on the county's eastern edge.
