A Taoist Sanctuary Above the City

The Zhinan Temple (指南宮) is one of Taipei's most revered Taoist complexes, dedicated to the immortal Lü Dongbin and uniting the Taoist, Confucian and Buddhist traditions across its four grand halls. The camera sits before the Chunyang Hall, where pilgrims gather amid swept eaves and stone balustrades.

The Maokong Tea Hills

Below the temple unfolds Maokong, the famed tea-growing district known as Taipei's backyard. The Maokong Gondola threads the slopes, carrying visitors between terraced plantations and hillside teahouses scented with locally grown leaves.

A Panorama of the Capital

From this elevated vantage the whole Taipei basin opens up, ringed by green ridges and threaded by the rivers that shaped the city. The broad horizon reveals the capital's skyline, its towers and neighbourhoods spread across the valley floor.
