A Coastline Sculpted by Time

Yehliu Geopark sits at the tip of a narrow sandstone cape on Taiwan's north coast, where centuries of wind and tidal erosion have carved a shoreline of extraordinary rock formations found almost nowhere else on Earth.

The Famous Mushroom Rocks

The park's mushroom-shaped hoodoos and honeycomb rocks — including the celebrated Queen's Head formation — draw geologists and photographers alike, their unusual silhouettes a product of differential erosion between hard and soft sedimentary layers.

Where Sea Meets Stone

The camera overlooks the open coastal waters beyond the cape, where waves break continuously against the reef and headland, a reminder of the same forces still reshaping this landscape today.

A Protected Natural Heritage Site

Managed as part of the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area, Yehliu is one of Taiwan's most visited geological reserves, valued both for its scientific significance and its striking coastal scenery.
