A Refuge Named for Its Residents
Farm Sanctuary is one of the largest farm-animal rescue organizations in the United States, and this pasture at its Watkins Glen campus takes its name from the home state of some of the rescued cattle who graze here. Many arrived as survivors of the meat and dairy industries, injured stock, or animals pulled from neglect cases.
Barn, Corral, and Open Grassland
The view centers on a weathered red barn with a working corral and loading chute, set against rolling pasture and a backdrop of mixed pine and hardwood forest. The open grassland gives the resident herd plenty of room to graze, roam, and socialize much as they would in the wild.
Powered by Explore.org
The feed is part of the Explore.org live-nature-cam network, which partners with sanctuaries and conservation projects worldwide to bring an unedited, real-time window into animal life to viewers everywhere. The partnership lets visitors watch the sanctuary's rescued cattle at any moment without ever setting foot on the property.
A Model for Animal Welfare
Beyond housing rescued animals, Farm Sanctuary uses its Watkins Glen campus for education and advocacy, hosting visitors and volunteers who come to learn about the individual personalities and needs of the farm animals living in this pasture.
