A Lower-Canopy View of Wild Macaws
This camera offers a detailed, eye-level perspective of a feeding station tucked into the branches of a large tree in Guanacaste. Positioned beneath the canopy cam in the same tree, it brings viewers remarkably close to the Scarlet Macaws as they land, climb and feed among the leaves.
The Macaw Recovery Network
The feed is operated in partnership with the Macaw Recovery Network, an organisation dedicated to protecting and restoring endangered parrot populations across the Americas. The supplemental feeder supports reintroduced birds and gives a window into the patient work of conservation in the field.
Costa Rican Tropical Forest
Set near Punta Islita on the Nicoya Peninsula, the surroundings are rich with tropical dry forest vegetation. Beyond the macaws, watchful viewers may spot howler monkeys and other rainforest wildlife moving through the trees.
