A Cherished Hamburg Stork Pair

This camera looks out from the gable of a historic farm building in Curslack onto a white stork nest roughly 40 metres away. The resident pair, affectionately named Fiete and Jette, return to the same platform each breeding season, and their comings and goings are followed closely by a devoted local audience.

White Storks of the Marshlands

The Vier- und Marschlande southeast of the city is classic stork country — open wet meadows and ditches rich in frogs, insects and small mammals. White storks (Ciconia ciconia) are among Europe's most cherished birds, famous for their clattering bill displays and their epic migrations to Africa.

Conservation in Action
