Waumbek Station Valley Overlook
OnlinePerched about halfway up the historic Mount Washington Cog Railway, this camera looks out from Waumbek Station across the rolling ridgelines of New Hampshire's White Mountains. The dual rack-and-pinion rails curve away through dense spruce-fir forest toward the valley floor, framed by the station's timber platform and water tank. Maintained by the Mount Washington Observatory, the view captures one of the most dramatic mountainside vantage points on the entire line.

A Trackside Perch on the Cog Railway
Waumbek Station sits roughly midway along the Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world's first mountain-climbing rack railway. From this elevated platform on the mountain's western flank, the camera frames the twin steel rails as they wind through rugged terrain toward the summit high above.
Sweeping Views of the White Mountains
Beyond the station's timber deck and old water tank, the land falls away into a wide valley bounded by the layered ridgelines of the Presidential Range. On clear days the panorama stretches for miles across unbroken spruce-fir forest.
Watched by the Mount Washington Observatory
The camera is maintained by the Mount Washington Observatory, the nonprofit research institution that has monitored the summit's extreme conditions since 1932. Its network of cameras, including this trackside view, helps document one of the Northeast's most storied mountain railways.
