A Working Wetland on the Waddesdon Estate

This feed sits within the grounds of the Waddesdon Estate, the Rothschild family's Buckinghamshire property, at a spot known as Eythrope. A patchwork of reed-lined channels and rough grassland forms a managed wetland corridor between open farmland and mature woodland, shaped over generations to hold water and support wildlife.

A Haven for Wading Birds

The dense reed grass and slow-moving drainage channels create ideal cover for wading birds and other wetland species that favour shallow, vegetated water over open lakes. Grazing pasture and thick hedgerows around the margins add further shelter, making this a quietly productive corner of the estate for wildlife-watching.
