Villarrica Volcano Ski Slope
OnlinePerched on the northwest flank of the active Villarrica Volcano, this fixed camera looks out over the groomed runs of Centro Pillán, one of the few ski resorts in the world built directly on a live volcano. Snow-covered slopes, tow-lift towers, and support trailers frame the scene, with panoramic views toward Lake Villarrica and the surrounding Andean peaks stretching out beyond the piste.

Skiing on an Active Volcano
The Centro Pillán ski area occupies the northwest wall of Villarrica Volcano, inside Villarrica National Park in Chile's Lake District. Chairlifts and tow ropes carry skiers and snowboarders up volcanic slopes that rank among the most unusual terrain in South America.
Panoramic Lake District Views
From the resort's mirador platform, the terrain opens onto sweeping views of Lake Villarrica and several neighboring lakes of the Araucanía Lake District, with the cone of the volcano itself rising directly overhead.
Terrain for Every Level
Runs span roughly 1,200 to 1,800 meters of elevation, mixing groomed pistes for beginners with steep volcanic gullies and natural half-pipes that have earned the resort a reputation among freeriders and snowboarders.
A Year-Round Mountain
Outside the ski season the same slopes become a base for hiking and volcano ascents, with the mountain's fumarolic summit and glacier-carved flanks drawing visitors throughout the year.
