The Iconic Big Egg

Opened in 1988 as Japan's first domed stadium, the Tokyo Dome is instantly recognisable for its pillowy, air-pressured white roof. The arena seats around 55,000 and is the home of the Yomiuri Giants, doubling as a premier venue for major concerts, expos and sporting spectacles.

Tokyo Dome City

The stadium is the centrepiece of Tokyo Dome City, an all-in-one leisure district that wraps the arena in shops, restaurants and the LaQua spa. The adjoining amusement park is famous for the centreless Big O Ferris wheel and the Thunder Dolphin roller coaster that threads between the buildings.

The Camera View

This vantage looks down across the dome's sweeping white membrane and the plaza below, where walkways, greenery and event signage spread toward the arena entrances. The elevated angle captures both the architectural scale of the roof and the everyday rhythm of people crossing the grounds.

Getting There

The complex sits in Kōraku, Bunkyo, a short walk from Suidōbashi and Kōrakuen stations and well connected by the JR and metro lines that thread central Tokyo. Its central location makes it one of the city's most accessible landmarks for visitors.
