Inside a Historic Barn-Style Church
Built in the early 19th century on land donated by the Alexander family of nearby Milford, St Fintan's Church is a fine example of the double-height, single-cell barn-style chapels once common across rural Ireland. Round-headed windows and a granite architrave frame the fanlit entrance, while the camera looks straight down the nave toward the sanctuary.
The Sanctuary and Granite Altar
A new granite altar and an unusual carved baptismal font were installed when the interior was sympathetically reordered in 1983, replacing the original porch and choir gallery. A wooden cross and a softly lit tabernacle mark the focal point of the sanctuary beneath the arched ceiling.
