A Sheltered Cove on Murter Island

Slanica Beach lies on the northern shore of Murter Island, just outside the town of Murter in Croatia's Šibenik-Knin County. The pebble-and-shingle beach curves gently around a shallow bay, framed by tall Aleppo pines that lean toward the water and offer natural shade along much of the shoreline.

Gateway to the Kornati Archipelago

Murter serves as the mainland springboard to the Kornati Islands, one of the most densely scattered island groups in the Mediterranean, and the harbor traffic visible from this vantage reflects that role. Boats bound for the national park and nearby islets regularly pass within view of the cove.

The beach's shallow, gradually deepening seabed and its shelter from open-sea swell make it a favorite among families with young children, while the clear, calm water and gravel bottom are typical of the Dalmatian coast's swimming coves.
