A coastal gateway on the Sea of Japan
This camera overlooks the Sasagawa Nagare roadside station, a tourist base facility opened in 1993 along the scenic Sea of Japan coastline of Murakami. The Sasagawa Nagare shoreline is famed for its dramatic offshore rock formations and tidal currents.
The Kuwagawa railway station
The station sits directly beside Kuwagawa Station on the JR Uetsu Main Line. The companion inset frames the adjacent platform, a stop for the Kairi HB-E300 sightseeing train that runs along this picturesque coastal route.
The Niigata coastal drive
The rest area anchors a roughly 300-kilometre panoramic driving road that traces the Niigata shoreline. Travellers pause here to take in the open sea, the coastal cliffs and the rest stop facilities before continuing their journey.
