About This Webcam
Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Wild Atlantic Beach
Praia de São Torpes stretches in a long arc of fine golden sand backed by low dunes, one of the most expansive beaches on Portugal's southwest Alentejo coast. Its open exposure to the Atlantic gives the strand a raw, uncrowded character.
A Magnet for Surfers
Fed by steady ocean swell, São Torpes is a renowned surf beach, home to surf schools and a regular line-up of longboarders and bodyboarders. A warm-water outflow nearby keeps the sea notably milder than neighbouring breaks, extending the water-sports season.
Sines and Its Working Port
Just to the north lies Sines, birthplace of the explorer Vasco da Gama and today one of Iberia's largest deep-water ports. Container ships and tankers regularly cross the horizon, a constant reminder of the coast's maritime trade.
What You Can See
The camera frames the full beach, the breaking shorebreak, and the wide Atlantic beyond. Watch for surfers paddling out, walkers tracing the tideline, and the slow procession of shipping bound for the port.
