Known as the City of Flowers, Sanremo is the principal resort of the Italian Riviera and home to the historic Ariston Theatre and the famed Italian Song Festival. From this elevated angle its pastel buildings, palm-lined seafront and busy harbour spread out toward the water.

Hillsides, Olive Groves and Sea

The foreground is shaped by the olive groves and terraced gardens that give the surrounding hills their character, dotted with tall cypress trees. Beyond them the coastline curves along the Ligurian Sea, a stretch prized for its mild climate and luminous horizon.
