Everything you need to know about this live stream
The Highest Village in France
At 2,042 metres above sea level, Saint-Véran is celebrated as the highest commune in France and historically known as the loftiest place where rye bread was once milled. The camera looks out from the church square over a cluster of sun-darkened timber and stone houses that climb the hillside.
A Living Alpine Heritage
Classified among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, the hamlet preserves traditional fuste chalets, carved wooden balconies and ancient sundials. Once a centre of copper mining and craftsmanship, Saint-Véran today welcomes visitors drawn to its authentic mountain architecture.
The Queyras Mountain Backdrop
The village lies entirely within the Queyras Regional Nature Park, and the view stretches down a broad glacial valley framed by rugged ridgelines rising beyond 3,000 metres. This protected massif is laced with hiking trails, alpine pastures and cross-country ski routes.
What You'll See on This Camera
This live feed from Vision-Environnement frames the heart of the village — its rooftops, the bell tower and the surrounding peaks of the Hautes-Alpes. It is a window onto one of the most secluded and scenic corners of the French Alps.
