A Historic Railway Depot

This camera looks out over the Quincy Amtrak Station, a 1985 replica of the original Chicago, Burlington & Quincy depot. Hosted by the Quincy Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the fixed east-facing view captures the platform and tracks beside the Mississippi River in Illinois's self-styled "Gem City."

BNSF's Brookfield Subdivision

The tracks belong to BNSF Railway's Chicago Division, Brookfield Subdivision, near Milepost 258.58. Around ten freight trains pass daily, offering a steady procession of intermodal, grain, and manifest consists bound to and from the Midwest's rail network.

Amtrak's Illinois Zephyr and Carl Sandburg

Four Amtrak trains call at the station each day: the Illinois Zephyr and Carl Sandburg services linking Quincy with Chicago. Railfans can watch passenger boarding alongside the freight traffic that shares this busy corridor.

Quincy's Riverside Rail Heritage

Some 120 miles west of Springfield, Quincy has long been a rail crossroads on the Mississippi River. The camera's vantage over the depot and yard preserves a living view of that heritage for railfans and travelers alike.
