Everything you need to know about this live stream
A classic BNSF railfan vantage
This camera looks out over the BNSF Red River Valley Subdivision from atop the old Railway Express building, a pan-tilt-zoom lens hosted by the City of Quanah. It watches the mainline, a connecting wye, and a working yard that handles local traffic, unit trains and periodic storage moves.
Where the lines meet
At this point the Chickasha Subdivision branch to Altus, Oklahoma splits from the main route, making the wye a natural focal point for train movements. The yard shuffles grain and rock unit trains alongside scheduled through traffic.
Trains and foreign power
The mainline carries intermodal trains bound for the Alliance Intermodal Facility, coal, oil, chemicals and agricultural products, frequently pulled by foreign power from Ferromex, Norfolk Southern and KCS โ a rotating parade of liveries for viewers.
Railroad heritage of Quanah
Quanah's rail history runs deep: the Quanah, Acme & Pacific Depot once stood across the street and Tower 27 guarded the west end of the wye. Today the live feed keeps this North Texas junction and its passing trains in constant view.
