The camera frames the entrance of a real Atlantic Puffin nesting burrow tucked into the boulder-strewn shoreline of Seal Island. Each breeding pair raises a single chick, the puffling, hidden in the cool darkness of the burrow while its parents commute to sea.

Fish Deliveries From the Gulf of Maine

Adult puffins are masterful divers, returning from the rich waters of the Gulf of Maine with beaks neatly lined with hake, herring, and sand eels. The view captures the iconic moment they land and dart into the burrow to feed.

A Refuge 21 Miles Offshore

Located roughly 21 miles off the Maine coast, Seal Island is a protected seabird colony managed in partnership with the Audubon Seabird Institute. Its isolation shelters one of the region's most important puffin nesting grounds.
