A Vancouver Island Valley Town

Perched above rooftops in West Alberni, this camera surveys the Alberni Valley, home to the city of Port Alberni at the head of a long saltwater inlet on Vancouver Island. Tall Douglas firs and cedar frame the foreground, with the community's houses, gardens, and tree-lined streets spreading across the valley floor below.

Beaufort Range and Comox Glacier

Looking northwest, the view stretches toward the Beaufort Range, a chain of forested peaks that walls the valley's western edge, with the distant Comox Glacier occasionally visible on the horizon beyond Vancouver Island's interior ranges.
