A Sheltered Adriatic Cove

Uvala Polje is one of the many indented inlets that lace the southern shore of the Istrian peninsula. Protected from open-sea swell, its calm shallow waters shimmer in striking shades of turquoise and emerald, a hallmark of this stretch of the Croatian Adriatic.

A Traditional Fishing Anchorage

A small fleet of wooden fishing boats rests at anchor and along the modest concrete breakwater, a scene that has changed little for generations. The cove serves as a working natural harbour for the fishermen of nearby Premantura.

Within Kamenjak Nature Park

The cove lies inside the Donji Kamenjak protected landscape, a wild headland of limestone cliffs, hidden coves and Mediterranean scrub at the southernmost point of Istria. Its untouched coastline draws walkers, swimmers and divers seeking an unspoiled corner of the region.

Premantura and the Istrian Coast
