Perisher Snow Stake
OnlineThis graduated snow stake stands watch over the open slopes of Perisher, Australia's largest ski resort, marking centimetre by centimetre exactly how much snow has settled on the ground. Planted on the high plateau of the Snowy Mountains inside Kosciuszko National Park, this simple measuring pole gives skiers, snowboarders and resort staff an honest, at-a-glance read of base depth all season long.

A Simple Tool, A Precise Reading
The graduated measuring pole stands fixed in an open clearing, its centimetre markings offering a direct, physical record of accumulated base depth rather than a satellite estimate or a forecast model.
Heart of the Snowy Mountains
Perisher sits on the alpine plateau of Kosciuszko National Park, in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, a range that catches some of mainland Australia's heaviest accumulations.
Australia's Largest Ski Resort
Perisher links four interconnected resort areas — Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega and Blue Cow — into the country's largest lift-served terrain, drawing skiers and snowboarders from across the continent.
Why the Stake Matters
Base depth read here directly informs trail openings, avalanche safety planning and grooming schedules, making this humble pole one of the most practically useful fixed views in the whole resort.
