This camera is part of Sääksilive, run by the Satakunta Osprey Foundation (Satakunnan sääkset) to follow the region's nesting ospreys — a fish-eating raptor once persecuted across Europe and now a conservation success story. This is the alternative view of the project's #1 nest, offering a second perspective on the same eyrie.

A Fish-Hawk Eyrie in the Boreal Forest

The ospreys build their massive stick nest atop a lone pine rising above the coniferous taiga of Pohjois-Satakunta in western Finland. The elevated platform gives the birds a commanding view of the forest and the waters where they hunt.

What You Can Watch

Depending on the breeding stage you may see an adult incubating, delivering fresh-caught fish, or the chicks exercising their wings before their first flight. The parents' comings and goings make every visit to the eyrie different.
