A Front-Row Seat on the BNSF Aurora Subdivision
The camera looks northwest across multiple tracks of the BNSF Aurora Subdivision at Milepost 239.6. The nearest rails carry Main 2, followed by Main 1 and a House Track, forming one of the busiest freight corridors linking Wisconsin to the Chicago and Galesburg gateways.
The Historic CB&Q Depot
Centered in the frame stands the former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy depot, a surviving landmark of Prairie du Chien's deep railroading heritage along the upper Mississippi River valley.
Trains in Both Directions
Eastbound trains run left to right toward East Dubuque and Chicago, while westbound trains move right to left toward LaCrosse and the Twin Cities. The constant two-way parade makes this a favorite among railfans.
Hosted at Frazier's Old Faithful Inn
The feed is presented from Frazier's Old Faithful Inn, a local tavern overlooking the crossing in the heart of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
