A Storied Rural Halt
Opened in 1932, Noto-Kashima Station is an unstaffed country stop on the Noto Railway Nanao Line, serving the small community of Kashima on the eastern shore of the Noto Peninsula. Its single platform and gently curving track give the view a timeless, almost storybook character.
The Cherry-Tree Tunnel
The station earns its nickname Noto-Sakura Station from the twin rows of cherry trees that line both sides of the tracks, forming a celebrated blossom tunnel that draws visitors and photographers to this otherwise quiet corner of Ishikawa.
Life on the Nanao Line
Operated by the third-sector Noto Railway, the single-car diesel local trains that pause here connect coastal towns along Nanao Bay. The camera captures each service gliding through, a window onto everyday rural rail travel in northern Japan.
