Skomer Island, off the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales, is a National Nature Reserve renowned for its seabird colonies. The steep grassy slopes and rocky cliffs of North Haven provide nesting burrows for tens of thousands of Atlantic puffins each breeding season.

This camera overlooks a bustling puffin bank where birds gather at burrow entrances, interact with neighbors, and share the cliffside with razorbills, guillemots, and gulls. The steep terrain and turquoise waters of the haven create a dramatic backdrop for the colony's daily activity.

A Protected Wildlife Haven

Managed by The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, Skomer is one of the most significant seabird breeding sites in the UK. The reserve's isolation and protected status allow the colony to thrive largely undisturbed by human activity.
