The World's Largest Little Penguin Colony

Phillip Island is home to an estimated 32,000 Little Penguins (also known as fairy or blue penguins), the smallest penguin species on Earth. The Phillip Island Nature Parks conservation team monitors dozens of burrows across the reserve to study breeding success without disturbing the colony.

Life Inside the Nest
