A Community Drop-Off Station on Windward Oʻahu

The camera overlooks the Laie Convenience Center, one of the City & County of Honolulu's neighborhood refuse and recycling facilities serving the small coastal town of Lāʻie. Residents of the Koʻolauloa district bring household trash, green waste, and recyclables here rather than to a distant landfill.

The Working Yard

Lined with large green roll-off bins and bordered by a corrugated metal fence, the gravel lot is a constant flow of pickup trucks and service vehicles. The view captures the unhurried rhythm of a rural Hawaiian community keeping its corner of the island clean.

Setting on the Koʻolauloa Coast

Tucked just inland of Kamehameha Highway between Lāʻie and Kahuku, the site sits against a backdrop of tropical foliage and the rising Koʻolau Range. It offers an honest, everyday slice of life on Oʻahu's quieter North Shore.
