A Curved Lake Beneath the Hills
Lacul Învârtită — whose name literally means "the winding lake" — takes its shape from the folded terrain of the Argeș foothills. Its still waters reflect the surrounding wooded slopes, creating a natural mirror at the edge of the village.
Nucșoara, a Subcarpathian Village
The commune of Nucșoara spreads along the shoreline with its characteristic steep, red-tiled roofs and timber gates. Vegetable gardens and orchard trees line the lanes, reflecting the traditional rural fabric of Argeș County.
At the Foot of the Făgăraș Mountains
Nucșoara sits in the subcarpathian depression south of the Făgăraș Mountains, one of the highest ranges in the Southern Carpathians. The village is a traditional starting point for hikers heading into the range and toward the nearby Vidraru area.
