Jinlun Bridge Pacific Crossing

An Elevated Highway Above the Sea

The Jinlun Bridge carries Provincial Highway 9, the South-Link Highway, across a stretch of coast where the land drops straight into the Pacific Ocean. Long praised as one of Taiwan's most beautiful viaducts, the structure seems to float above the waves, offering an unobstructed sweep of open water from every lane.

Mountains Meeting the Coast

Behind the carriageway, the steep, forested flanks of Dawu Mountain and the Central Mountain Range press right up to the shore. This collision of ocean and high terrain gives the scene its distinctive depth, with the dark beach and breaking surf in the foreground and ridge after ridge fading into the distance.

Gateway to Taitung's South-Link Route

Set between the village of Jinlun and the sea in Taimali Township, the bridge is a landmark of the scenic drive that links Taitung with Pingtung. Travellers who once could only glimpse this panorama through a car window can now watch the traffic, tides and weather of this remote corner of southeastern Taiwan in real time.
