The Road to Houdaigi Ski Resort

Positioned on the mountain lane climbing from Minakami toward Houdaigi Ski Resort, this camera gives travellers a real-time look at the road surface and driving conditions on one of Gunma's most popular winter-sports routes. The feed is maintained by a local guesthouse to help visitors judge the approach before setting out.

The Historic Kumogoe House

To the left of the road stands the thatched Kumogoe-ke Jūtaku, a farmhouse recognised as a National Important Cultural Property. Its steep roof and timber frame preserve the traditional architecture of the Fujiwara highlands and anchor the scene in local heritage.

Peaks of the Tanigawa Range

Beyond the valley rise the mountains of the Tanigawa massif, with Mount Asahi-dake reaching some 1,945 metres. The nearer slopes of Amayobiyama frame a sweeping panorama of the surrounding backcountry.

A Gateway to the Fujiwara Highlands

Set deep in the Fujiwara district of Minakami, this stretch of road links the resort with the wider Tone valley. It offers a quiet window onto remote mountain travel and the changing rhythm of life in Japan's alpine north.
