Hakata Station is the principal railway terminal of Fukuoka and the busiest gateway on the island of Kyushu. Served by Shinkansen bullet trains, JR Kyushu lines and the city subway, it channels enormous numbers of travellers between southern Japan and the rest of the country.

Architecture & the Forecourt
