Everything you need to know about this live stream
The Stork Nest
This camera frames a white stork nest built atop a pole in Érd-Ófalu, a tradition repeated across rural Hungary, where storks are cherished as harbingers of fortune. The bulky platform of sticks anchors a family of these tall wading birds season after season.
Ófalu, the Old Town
Ófalu (literally old village) is the original historic core of Érd, a city on the right bank of the Danube southwest of Budapest. Its narrow streets and low red-tiled houses preserve the character of a centuries-old Hungarian market town.
The Érd Minaret
Rising on the skyline behind the nest stands the Érd Minaret, a slender stone tower left from the Ottoman occupation of Hungary. It is the northernmost surviving minaret in Europe and the most distinctive landmark of the quarter.
What You Will See
The feed captures the daily rhythm of the nest and its surroundings — adult storks tending the platform, the steeples and rooftops of the old town, and the wide Hungarian sky above the Pannonian plain.
