Everything you need to know about this live stream
The Duluth Ship Canal
The Duluth Ship Canal is a man-made cut through Minnesota Point that links Lake Superior with the inner Duluth-Superior harbor. Ocean-going salties and Great Lakes freighters glide through this narrow channel, passing directly beneath the city's celebrated Aerial Lift Bridge.
Canal Park & the Lakewalk
Canal Park is Duluth's revitalized waterfront district, lined with the paved Lakewalk promenade that traces the Lake Superior shoreline. Stone breakwaters and concrete piers extend into the lake, drawing strollers, anglers and ship-spotters to the water's edge.
Lake Superior
Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area, its vast horizon stretching beyond the breakwaters. The camera captures the meeting point of this inland sea and one of the Great Lakes' busiest commercial gateways.
Ship Watching
Maritime traffic makes this a favourite spot for ship watching, with bulk carriers hauling iron ore, coal and grain through the port. A schedule overlay announces each incoming vessel, turning every arrival into an anticipated event for onlookers gathered along the canal.
