Dobó Square (Dobó István tér) is the civic and cultural center of Eger, a city renowned for its baroque architecture and thermal springs in northern Hungary. Named after István Dobó, the celebrated captain who defended Eger Castle against Ottoman forces in 1552, the square has served as the town's principal gathering place for centuries.

The Minorite Church

Dominating the eastern side of the plaza, the Minorite Church of St. Anthony of Padua is considered one of the finest examples of baroque ecclesiastical architecture in Central Europe. Its twin towers and richly decorated façade have overlooked the square since the 18th century, alongside the elegant Eger City Hall.
