A Headland Carved by the Pacific

Dashibi Hill is a small, rocky promontory on Taiwan's East Coast National Scenic Area, its weathered boulders jutting into the open Pacific like the snout that gives the hill its name. Wind-sculpted grasses and coastal scrub cling to the slopes, framing a view that stretches unobstructed toward the horizon.

The Boardwalk Trail

A 750-meter wooden boardwalk traces the contour of the headland, its timber steps and railings guiding visitors past milestone markers and a shaded pavilion at the summit. The gentle, well-maintained path makes the full loop an easy outing for families and casual hikers alike.

Coastal Village Backdrop

Below the hill, the fishing hamlet of Jiqi lines the shore, its breakwaters and small harbor visible beyond the greenery. The Provincial Highway 11 coastal road threads along the base, linking the lookout to the wider stretch of Hualien's shoreline.

A Window on the Pacific

From the summit pavilion, the view sweeps across 360 degrees, taking in the endless blue of the Pacific on one side and the folded green ridgelines of the Coastal Mountain Range on the other — a vantage point prized by photographers and nature lovers.
