Pichilemu sits on Chile's central coast in the O'Higgins region, long regarded as the country's surfing capital thanks to the powerful Pacific swells that break along its shoreline. This camera looks out over the Costanera, the coastal boulevard that links the town to its beaches and famous point breaks.

Wave Monitoring by Universidad de Valparaíso

The feed is part of a marejadas (swell) monitoring network run by the Escuela de Ingeniería Oceánica at the Universidad de Valparaíso, which tracks coastal wave activity at multiple points along the Chilean coast to help forecast dangerous swell events.

Palm-Lined Boulevard and Roundabout

The view centers on the landscaped roundabout marking the entrance to the seafront promenade, framed by palm trees and municipal signage bearing the Pichilemu coat of arms, with the open Pacific visible beyond the boulevard.
