A Marine Safety Camera on Taiwan's Coast
Perched above Chaojing Bay, also called Wanghaigang Bay, near Badouzi on the rugged northeastern tip of Taiwan, this camera feeds Taiwan's GoOcean marine recreation risk information platform. It gives coastal managers and visitors a real-time view of sea conditions along this exposed stretch of the Keelung coastline.
Built for Surfers, Divers, and Paddlers
Chaojing Bay draws surfers, windsurfers, divers, and stand-up paddleboarders to its rocky coves and open swells. The GoOcean network combines this feed with wave, current, and visibility data to help ocean-goers judge conditions before heading into the water.
Near Taiwan's National Museum of Marine Science and Technology
The bay sits beside the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Badouzi, a former mining port turned marine research and recreation hub. Rocky headlands, tide pools, and a converted coal power plant give the area its distinctive, dramatically rugged character.
