About This Webcam
Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Working Lobster Harbor
Cape Porpoise is one of the oldest fishing settlements on the Maine coast, and its pier remains very much a place of work. From this vantage the live webcam looks out over the lobster boats that supply the village wharves, moored in ranks across the sheltered anchorage.
The Outer Harbor and Its Islands
Beyond the pier the outer harbor opens toward the Atlantic, screened by a scatter of low granite islands. Among them stands Goat Island, whose historic lighthouse has guided vessels into the channel since the nineteenth century.
A New England Village
The tidal waters here rise and fall dramatically, reshaping the flats and the approach that skippers must read on every run. Around the harbor, Kennebunkport's coastal roads, seafood shacks and clapboard houses give the scene its unmistakable New England character.
