A Working Welsh Harbour
Burry Port sits on the northern shore of the Loughor Estuary in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. Its small harbour has served fishing boats and pleasure craft for generations, and the stone breakwater still shelters the marina from the shifting Bristol Channel tides.
The Landmark Lighthouse
At the end of the western pier stands the iconic Burry Port Lighthouse, a squat white tower that has guided vessels into the harbour since the Victorian era. It remains one of the most photographed structures along this stretch of the Welsh coast.
RNLI Lifeboat Station
The camera is hosted alongside the Burry Port RNLI lifeboat station, whose volunteer crews launch into the estuary to respond to vessels in distress. Their all-weather boat is a familiar sight moored close to the harbour mouth.
Estuary and Coastline Views
Beyond the breakwater, the camera frames the broad tidal flats of the Loughor Estuary and the distant hills of the Gower Peninsula. The pebble beach in the foreground is a popular spot for walkers exploring the Wales Coast Path.
