A New Landmark for Auburn Aviation

Auburn University is raising a 109-foot air traffic control tower next to its regional airport terminal, a $9 million investment that will crown the facility with a 360-degree observation deck. The project reflects the university's growing commitment to its aviation program and the regional airport it operates.

The webcam is mounted with a wide angle over the airfield apron, giving a continuous look at the structure as it rises story by story. Parked aircraft, taxiways and runway lighting frame the scene, anchoring the tower's construction within the working rhythm of a regional airport.

Purpose and Oversight

Once complete, the tower will house air traffic control operations, supporting aircraft management and safety for the airport. The build includes full mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection systems alongside dedicated technology infrastructure for controllers.
