A Lookout Over the Galapagos of North America
This elevated vantage point surveys the cove and headlands of Anacapa Island, the most accessible of the five islands that form Channel Islands National Park. The cam frames a sweeping view of the rugged terrain that earned the archipelago its nickname as the “Galapagos of North America”.
Seabird Colonies on the Cliffs
The island's steep bluffs and grassy plateaus host one of the largest seabird colonies on the West Coast, including nesting western gulls and the rare California brown pelican. Birds drift constantly across the frame above their cliff-edge rookeries.
The Pacific Below
Far beneath the lookout, the Pacific Ocean works the sheer rock faces and hidden coves, part of the protected marine sanctuary that surrounds the island. The exposed, treeless ridgeline gives the scene its raw, oceanic character.
A Protected Wilderness
Operated in partnership with the National Park Service, the lookout offers a meditative window into a place reachable only by boat. It is a chance to watch a wild island ecosystem unfold across the open seascape of southern California's offshore frontier.
