A Purpose-Built Nesting Tower
Standing 320 metres from the Alyth electricity substation, this 25-metre timber tower was specially engineered to give a resident pair of ospreys a safe, elevated platform overlooking the surrounding farmland of Perth and Kinross.
A Long-Running Conservation Story
The birds have nested in this area since 1990, originally on a transmission pylon, before renowned osprey expert Roy Dennis helped design the current tower. More than 25 chicks have fledged from the site since the platform was built.
Wild Behaviour, Unfiltered
The feed shows genuinely wild ospreys going about their natural routines โ nest-building, feeding, and raising young โ with the wider electricity infrastructure and rolling countryside visible in the background.
