Perched on a launch site above Reinhardsmunster, the camera looks out over the rolling, forest-cloaked ridges of the Vosges piedmont. It is the threshold where the mountains of Alsace give way to gentler valleys and the broad plain beyond.

A Paragliding Heartland

This is home turf for the Aero Zorn club, whose pilots gather at the Reinhardsmunster takeoff whenever an easterly breeze sets in. The viewpoint frames the very airspace where gliders carve long flights above the wooded slopes.

Saverne Country and the Zorn Valley

The scene belongs to the pays de Saverne, a tapestry of small valleys — the Zorn valley among them — set between the Vosges, the foothills and the plain. The patchwork of woodland and farmland is classic Grand Est landscape.
